At the Fordham Cognition, Development, and Education (CoDE) Lab, we study how children develop competence in mathematics. We explore several key areas of interest:

  • Cognitive mechanisms underlying the development of procedural and conceptual knowledge in mathematics.

  • Interplay between cognitive processes and motivational factors that shape children's mathematical outcomes.

  • Sociocultural factors, such as parental involvement and instructional materials, shaping children's mathematical development.
